{"abstract": "   An Autonomous System Provider Authorization (ASPA) record authorizes\n   provider ASes of a customer AS.  While ASPA-based AS_PATH\n   verification can correctly detect and mitigate route leaks and some\n   forged-origin or forged-path-segment hijacks, it fails to detect some\n   malicious path manipulations for routes that are received from\n   transit providers.  This document utilizes a new RPKI object called\n   Autonomous System Relationship Authorization (ASRA) that\n   significantly enhances AS_PATH verification complementing ASPA.  ASRA\n   fills in a significant gap in the ASPA method by adding the\n   capability to detect fake links in the AS_PATHs in BGP Updates\n   propagated from providers to customers.  ASRA achieves this by\n   allowing an AS to register additional AS relationships, i.e.,\n   customers and lateral peers.\n", "ad": null, "expires": "2027-01-07T23:41:43Z", "external_url": "", "group": "/api/v1/group/group/1027/", "id": 139695, "intended_std_level": null, "keywords": "[]", "name": "draft-sriram-sidrops-asra-verification", "note": "", "notify": "", "pages": 15, "resource_uri": "/api/v1/doc/document/draft-sriram-sidrops-asra-verification/", "rev": "05", "rfc": null, "rfc_number": null, "shepherd": null, "states": ["/api/v1/doc/state/1/", "/api/v1/doc/state/150/"], "std_level": null, "stream": null, "submissions": ["/api/v1/submit/submission/146260/", "/api/v1/submit/submission/146884/", "/api/v1/submit/submission/151542/", "/api/v1/submit/submission/157256/", "/api/v1/submit/submission/163221/", "/api/v1/submit/submission/166310/"], "tags": [], "time": "2026-07-06T23:41:43Z", "title": "Autonomous System Relationship Authorization (ASRA) as an Extension to ASPA for Enhanced AS Path Verification", "type": "/api/v1/name/doctypename/draft/", "uploaded_filename": "", "words": null}
