I am supportive of the formation of this new WG to coalesce work in this area that is happening in different WGs. I hope it brings in more active participation from operators that actually consume these abstractions models.

The success of this WG will also depend on attracting the long term contributors to these abstraction models especially from RTG area WGs in this new WG how being placed in the OPS area. Good coordination between the protocol/technology working groups and ONIONS will be essential.

Just one comment - I understand that the network and service abstraction model part of the charter is more about reorganizing existing work at the IETF. However, for the YANG2API portion, it is not clear if this is totally new work - can this be clarified? If it is existing work, perhaps some text on where this was done and related coordination would help.

I will admit that I am not following the YANG2API work closely, but would appreciate some clarification.
