Subject: Results of IETF-conflict review for draft-dashevskyi-dnsrr-antipatterns-04

The IESG has completed a review of draft-dashevskyi-dnsrr-antipatterns-04
consistent with RFC5742.

The IESG has no problem with the publication of 'Common implementation
anti-patterns related to Domain Name System (DNS) resource record (RR)
processing'  as an Informational
RFC.

The IESG has concluded that this work is related to IETF work done in the
DNSOP WG, but this relationship does not prevent publishing.

The IESG would also like the Independent Submissions Editor to review the
comments in the datatracker related to this document and determine whether or
not they merit incorporation into the document. Comments may exist in both
the ballot and the history log.

The IESG review is documented at:
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/conflict-review-dashevskyi-dnsrr-antipatterns/

A URL of the reviewed Internet Draft is:

The process for such documents is described at
https://www.rfc-editor.org/indsubs.html

Thank you,

The IESG Secretary

Additional background / context, not part of the conflict review: This
document was discussed in the DNSOP WG around a year ago, and the WG did not
show interest in adopting it. With that said, there were some useful comments
in the discussions which the authors / ISE may want to consider to further
improve the document.

old DISCUSS:

Why not take this to dnsop to possibly get further items that might apply to this document. Especially since we have lots of implementers there with interop (failure) experience.

Warren answered: authors went to dnsop first, WG was not interested.
