00 | Amy Vezza | The following approval message was sent From: The IESG To: Adrian Farrel , draft-yao-regext-bundling-registration@ietf.org, rfc-ise@rfc-editor.org Cc: IETF-Announce , … The following approval message was sent From: The IESG To: Adrian Farrel , draft-yao-regext-bundling-registration@ietf.org, rfc-ise@rfc-editor.org Cc: IETF-Announce , The IESG , iana@iana.org Subject: Results of IETF-conflict review for draft-yao-regext-bundling-registration-05 The IESG has completed a review of draft-yao-regext-bundling-registration-05 consistent with RFC5742. The IESG has no problem with the publication of 'Extensible Provisioning Protocol (EPP) Domain Name Mapping Extension for Strict Bundling Registration' as an Informational RFC. The IESG has concluded that this work is related to IETF work done in the REGEXT working group, but this relationship does not prevent publishing. The IESG would also like the Independent Submissions Editor to review the comments in the datatracker related to this document and determine whether or not they merit incorporation into the document. Comments may exist in both the ballot and the history log. The IESG review is documented at: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/conflict-review-yao-regext-bundling-registration/ A URL of the reviewed Internet Draft is: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-yao-regext-bundling-registration/ The process for such documents is described at https://www.rfc-editor.org/indsubs.html Thank you, The IESG Secretary |

It looks like some of the examples that are supposed to contain u-labels are currently rendering as literal HTML ampersand codes, not the expected unicode characters. It's probably worth either a note to the reader about the choice to present it that way to clarify the relevant codepoints, or a note to the RFC Editor to properly handle the unicode values for final publication. If the actual unicode values are intended to be used, RFC 7997 suggests that the relevant Unicode codepoints should be identified in the prose, in addition to the use of the encoded UTF-8. |

However, there really was no enforcement mechanism, especially on the DNS side, so there was just no way to get agreement. The solution that was “permitted” was to let it be published informational. |
