Secure Password Ciphersuites for Transport Layer Security (TLS)

The IANA Services Operator has completed its review of draft-harkins-tls-dragonfly-02. If any part of this review is inaccurate, please let us know.

We have identified the actions requested by this document, but we understand that the expert reviews are waiting for the progression of draft-ietf-tls-iana-registry-updates, which is creating a pool of experts for both registries and changing the registration procedure for the TLS ExtensionType Values registry from IETF Review to Specification Required.

We understand that this document is requesting two actions.

First, in the TLS ExtensionType Values registry at https://www.iana.org/assignments/tls-extensiontype-values, we'll add the following entries:

TBD1  pwd_protect  [RFC-to-be]
TBD2  pwd_clear  [RFC-to-be]

Second, in the TLS Cipher Suite Registry at https://www.iana.org/assignments/tls-parameters, we'll add the following entries:

TBD3, TBD4  TLS_ECCPWD_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256  [RFC-to-be]
TBD5, TBD6  TLS_ECCPWD_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256  [RFC-to-be]
TBD7, TBD8  TLS_ECCPWD_WITH_AES_128_CCM_SHA256  [RFC-to-be]
TBD9, TBD10  TLS_ECCPWD_WITH_AES_256_CCM_SHA384  [RFC-to-be]

The "DTLS-OK" column for these registrations will be set to "Y," and the new "IETF Recommended" column that's being created by draft-ietf-tls-iana-registry-updates will be set to "N."

We'll send an expert review request once the new experts have been designated. In the meantime, this document's IANA status will be marked "IANA Not OK."

Note:  The actions requested in this document will not be completed until the document has been approved for publication as an RFC. This message is only to confirm what actions will be performed.
