draft-ietf-ipsecme-iptfs

This draft describes a way to add multiple IP packets inside other IP packet, so that they can be transported over ESP as one big packet hiding the sizes of the original IP packets. ESP already allows trafic flow confidentiality, but it does that by padding each packet to given length and allowing sending of dummy packets when there is no traffic, but this of course wastes quite a lot of resources. This draft tries to provide more efficient way. The draft includes features which come quite close to the transport area including splitting one IP packet to multiple packets, and providing some kind of congestion control, thus I would like to request a TSV early review on the draft before we start to really process this in the IPsecME WG.

As some of the use cases might mean that this protocol could also be used outside the IPsec this document does this by allocating a new IP protocol number, and as such it might be outside the IPsecME area of expertise (which might mean that doing this draft in some other WG would be more appropriate).
