Technical Summary

This protocol defines an alternate approach to securing Mobile IPv6
Route Optimization, based on IPsec/IKE as opposed to the Return
Routability mechanism specified in RFC 3775.

Working Group Summary

This was originally adopted by the MIP6 Working Group as a WG
item. After a discussion with the AD and during the WG's rechartering
process, the AD decided that this document will be processed as
an individual submission and not be a part of the group's official
  charter.

The question of whether this document is appropriate for the
Standards Track or be designated Experimental was a topic
of lengthy discussion between the authors and the AD.
Based on discussions with the authors, a new substantially
improved document revision, and privately received information
about potential users of this specification the AD eventually
decided that it can be progressed on the Standards Track.

Protocol Quality

This specifiation has been discussed in the MIP6 WG. It has
been reviewed by Jari Arkko for the IESG.
