Technical Summary

   This document describes the Argon2 memory-hard function for password
   hashing and proof-of-work applications.  We provide an implementer-
   oriented description together with sample code and test vectors.  The
   purpose is to simplify adoption of Argon2 for Internet protocols.

   This document is a product of the Crypto Forum Research Group (CFRG)
   in the IRTF.

Working Group Summary

   CFRG history was mostly uneventful. After adopting the document
   it was presented in several face-to-face CFRG meetings.

   Crypto Review Panel reviews were solicited in June 2017.
   2 reviews were provided by Russ Housley and Stanislav Smyshlyaev.
   Comments from these reviews were addressed in -03.

   Following revisions of the draft addressed review comments from
   the document shepherd and various ID-nits.

Document Quality

   There are several implementations of Argon2, including Linux packages.
