Neither of these is in the publication queue. I support having this as an RFC but I question whether it should have implicit IETF approval. Now that we have individual informational RFCs that say that the IETF has not come to consensus, we should consider using that approach for informational RFCs that do not garner sufficient review and support. I assume the ADs voting "yes" have reviewed this but I see no evidence of wider IETF review. I believe that the two SMIME documents, should they become Proposed Standard, can still refer to this document as Informational whether or not it has the disclaimer. |
