Ballot Text

Technical Summary

This document describes the mechanisms for allowing a JavaScript
application to control the signaling plane of a multimedia session
via the interface specified in the W3C RTCPeerConnection API and
discusses how this relates to existing signaling protocols.

   This specification obsoletes RFC 8829.

Working Group Summary

The RTCWEB was reconstituted just to produce this update document,
which it has now done. The process appears to have been smooth; no
particular issues to raise to the IESG.

Document Quality

The document describes a clarification to the original WebRTC
documents, specifically the resolution of a conflict between two
of them. (See the current WebRTC charter for details.). There are
already implementations of the original specifications.

Personnel

Sean Turner is the Document Shepherd for this document.
Murray Kucherawy is the responsible Area Director.
