Russ: why do you need relative OID?
John: to support extensions
Russ: relative OID is an ASN1 type of its own. You have to know the base.
Assumed prefix, if you don't know you can't create it. John: not what I wanted.
Only wanted to skip the 06 DER encoding Russ: That makes sense. Wrong term
("relative") John: terminology should be changed.

Olle (from Jabber): IANA procedure for 1 vs 2 bytes registration?
John: last version addresse that, standard track for 1 byte.
