## Minutes

Times in UTC-

*    [14:30] Administrivia (chairs)                                      [ 5min]
    o    Note-Well, Scribes, Agenda Bashing
    o    Status of drafts

Pascal: introduction and administrivia. No change in proposed agenda. Will be
using preloaded slides

* [14:38] LPWAN Architecture and general newcomer presentation [5min]
    o    Associated drafts: draft-ietf-lpwan-architecture
    o    Presenter: Alexander Pelov

Slow progress, notably due to no interim meetings recently.
Slide deck has introductory material, for perusal.
Provide feedback on what should be developped first in this draft, lots still
to do.

* [14:42] YANG Data Model for SCHC [15min]
    o    Associated drafts: draft-ietf-lpwan-schc-yang-data-model
    o    Presenter: Laurent Toutain

This draft was published in August.
Laurent highlights differences from previous version discussed at IETF111.
Alex (as a participant): about compound ack, yang model extension is needed.
Laurent: either way
Pascal: we should not consider compound ack here, and have a yang model
extension in draft-schc-compound-ack Laurent suggests other relations that
could prove useful, but does not know how to express in Yang, or that are not
explicited in the RFC. Advice sought. Alex: do we need to show it again to YANG
Doctors? Laurent: ready to be reviewed. Alex: WGLC by the end of year? Laurent:
or before. Pascal: how does this work? Yang review and document review. Eric:
process-wise, you can do both at the same time. But if unsure about YANG model,
go to doctors first to avoid doing big changes and having to redo a 2nd WGLC.
Laurent: previous YANG review done by somebody zho is no longer available. Need
to find a new one. Éric: do the minor fixes then ask for another YANG Doctor
review before the WGLC. Asking for a 2 weeks turn-around by YANG Doctor is
reasonable.

*    [15:00] Status of SCHC-over-SigFox                                  [15min]
    o    Associated drafts: draft-ietf-lpwan-schc-over-sigfox
    o                       draft-ietf-lpwan-schc-compound-ack
    o Presenter: Juan Carlos Zuniga / Sergio Aguilar

Compound ACK was forked off into another draft going from -06 to -07
Implementation of SCHC over Sigfox over Lopy. (Sergio)
Will test more use cases.
Alex: do you think ready for WGLC?
JCZ: once the two dependencies are stable, will ask for LC.

Compound ACK draft needs to be finalized first.
LC was held end of october. Feedback received very recently (yesterday and
today).

Dominique: how about bitmap compression?
Sergio: intermediate bitmaps of the compound schc ack not compressed, only the
last one. This needs to be clarified. Éric: having at least a third review,
even if not by a sigfox expert, would show WG commitment into this. Review does
not have to be a long text, writing "I reviewed and agree with it" is fine.

*    [15:12] Status of SCHC-over-NBIOT                                   [10min]
    o    draft-ietf-lpwan-schc-over-nbiot
    o    Presenter: Ana Minaburo

Changed terminology for that of the IETF instead of 3GPP's.
Simplified 3GPP architecture description.
Alex: ready for WGLC?
Ana: yes, unless we want to add Delay Tolerant Transfer Objects.
Edgar: challenge to get SCHC into 3GPP NB-IoT. Cellular ecosystem is lagging
behind specification, general reluctance to standardize additional mechanisms.
We need an incentive for 3GPPP to adopt SCHC. Like FUOTA. That's the reason for
our interest in Delay Tolerant Transfer. Pascal: this is very enlightening:

* [15:20] SCHC adoption within the LoRa Alliance [ 5min]
    o    Presenter: Dominique Barthel

Presentation of the DLMS/SCHC/LoRaWAN
Straightforward document based on RFC8724 and RFC9011, with some minor tweaks
(timers, etc.)

*    [15:25] Future of SCHC-over-PPP                                     [ 5min]
    o    Associated drafts: draft-thubert-intarea-schc-over-ppp
    o    Presenter: Pascal Thubert

Doc presented at Int Area. Not much interest in PPP.
Discussed with Eric, advice is to work on it in LPWAN, then submit it as AD
sponsored. Eric: agreed. Experts are in the LPWAN WG, but doc cannot be adopted
since not in charter. When all experts are happy with doc, will go for
AD-sponsored submission.

Dominique: would like to improve the way the padding is handled in this draft.
Could be done in a cleanr, reusable way.
