Minutes
-------

Pascal: Ask to those who want to present to answer to the e-mail he sends with
the 5 questions to get a slot, it is important to give all the information.

*    [17:05] Administrivia                                           [ 5min]
    o Note-Well, Scribes, Agenda Bashing
    o Status of drafts
Pascal: Gives Note Well, if you know if there is patents, IPR, etc please senda
mail to the chairs Alex: Ask if everybody accept the minutes from the last
meeting Alex: any other point for today's agenda? Pascal: minutes from the last
interim are approved Laurent: Ask for talk about the meeting agenda

Pascal: 2 action items:
             - Asking for reviewers for the CoAP draft (done)
TODO: organize a side-meeting with CoRE chairs
Pascal: need all questions about slots in Montreal answered (by NB-IoT and
LoRaWAN specific drafts) Pascal: will Ricardo be remotely presenting in
Montreal? (For the SCHC-OSCORE part) Ricardo: Yes Pascal: Nicolas will present
the SCHC over LoRaWAN draft (remotely) Ana: we missed the I-D cutoff date, but
we have new content that can be presented. 10 mins is OK. Pascal: Charlie said
he also would like a slot. If Ana can present in 5 min, that would be good.
Ana: OK. Laurent: 5 min for the Timescale draft will be good Pascal: 15 min for
Juan Carlos, since he wants to discuss on ACK-on-Error Pascal: does the agenda
look good? [Several replies] Yes

*    [17:10] SCHC IP WGLC 2 / Shepherd review                        [10min]

Pascal: second WGCL started, because too many changes since the first one. It
is important to do this, so that IESG are also aware that we did review again
the document. Pascal: in some places keywords are used not as they should
(SHOULD / MUST / MAY). Description of going over the text.. and use appropriate
CAPS (MAY -> may, or vice-versa) Pascal: two more bigger comments. One first
question was that All-one and Abort cannot be distinguished.. but Dominique
explained that the difference is in having a CRC in one / MIC. Need to add a
sentence to make it more clear, so that people understand the text. Pascal: do
we really need all this complexity, if we only save one message. Laurent: it is
difficult to decide. It depends on the probability of packet loss. Pascal: the
three All-x mode may be too much, to be discussed in Montreal. Pascal: another
concept - fully-received window may not be clear enough.. Laurent: this is an
optimization. You can live without it. Pascal: if you miss the first window,
you don't know when the window starts.. the text doesn't say that you fall-back
to All-x

Alexander: other issues wrt the shepherding process?
Pascall: no, all good
Alexander: we'll move Pascal's comments to the mailing list (hopefully, get
them solved by the IETF meeting in Montreal)

*    [17:20] SCHC CoAP - Laurent                                     [40min]

Laurent: draft now explains difference between CoAP and IP/UDP, and added the
OSCORE part Laurent: explains how each field is compressed Laurent: presents
slide on Message ID Laurent: presents slide on Token length Laurent: currently
Max-Age is in seconds, could we introduce a new option so that it could be in
minutes for LPWAN (to discuss in the future) Laurent: when we use variable
length options, we need to indicate the unit (it was ambiguous from the IP/UDP
document) Laurent: Block and SCHC fragmentation are possible. Laurent: OSCORE:
work presented in last interim assumed version 5 of OSCORE. Currently, OSCORE
has evolved. OSCORE option has to be cut in three fields for SCHC compression.
Laurent: due to lack of time, we only have a simple example; we suppressed a
CoMI example (that may need to be added in the future) Laurent: it is most
important to have a review and discussion with CoAP people. Maybe, joint
meeting between lpwan and coap chairs Pascal: I understand we are not fully
ready? Do we need to solve the questions in the "To Do" slide? Alexander: can
we go ahead with the current CoAP draft as it is? Laurent: WGLC could be done
(maybe quality of the writing can be improved) Pascal: let's get the reviews
Alexander: agree, we can go ahead with the deep review Pascal: plan is try get
the reviews, and if there are no issues, WGLC can be launched after the IETF
Laurent: concern is that people in lpwan don't know much about core, and vice
versa
