Mirja Kühlewind asked if there were documents for protocols. Cullen Jennings replied there were three documents from different companies interested in the work, and the documents would be merged to form the basis of the protocol. Murray said the group had met via teleconference to work on a proposed charter for a new working group. Éric Vyncke added the work was well defined and he supported holding the BoF at IETF 114. Zahed Sarker said he would be a technical advisor from the Transport Area to assist the group. The proposed Media Over QUIC (MOQ) BoF was provisionally approved for IETF 114. At the June 16, 2022 IESG Teleconference the proposed BoF was approved. APPLICATIONS AND REAL-TIME AREA o Transfer dIGital cREdentialS Securely (TIGRESS) Responsible AD: Roman Danyliw Roman Danyliw introduced the proposed Transfer dIGital cREdentialS Securely (TIGRESS) BoF effort and noted that this was the second BoF for the group. The group previously met as the SECRET BoF, and he expected to have a draft charter for TIGRESS in a couple of weeks. He hoped the group would be chartered before IETF 114, so mentioned this was a placeholder to make sure to get TIGRESS on the agenda. Francesca Palombini mentioned they were actively looking for chairs, and asked everyone to send them leads if they have them. The proposed Transfer dIGital cREdentialS Securely (TIGRESS) BoF was provisionally approved for IETF 114. At the June 16, 2022 IESG Teleconference the proposed BoF was approved. INTERNET AREA o Stub Network Auto Configuration for IPv6 (SNAC) Responsible AD: Éric Vyncke Éric Vyncke introduced the proposed Stub Network Auto Configuration for IPv6 (SNAC) BoF and noted the work was coming out of the HOMENET Working Group. David Schnazi added that he had discussed the work with the proponents and encouraged them to propose a tightly scoped working group specifically for this work. Tommy Pauly agreed that a working group on this specific subject would be successful. Warren Kumari asked if the Internet Area was the appropriate area because the work sounded like it would fit in Operations and Management. Éric agreed it could fit in the Operations and Management Area, but since it had come from HOMENET, he is shepherding the BoF proposal. Warren said the discussion of the appropriate Area could be part of the chartering discussion. Jari Arkko and Russ White are the IAB Shepherds for the proposed BoF. The proposed Stub Network Auto Configuration for IPv6 (SNAC) BoF was approved for IETF 114. At the June 16, 2022 IESG Teleconference the proposed BoF was approved. ROUTING AREA o Multicast Source Routing over IPv6 (MSR6) Responsible AD: Alvaro Retana Alvaro Retana introduced the proposed Multicast Source Routing over IPv6 (MSR6) BoF and reminded the group the BoF had been previously approved for a virtual interim BoF between IETF 113 and IETF 114. He said the BoF proposal had been recently revised, and the proponents were ready to hold a BoF at IETF 114. He added that IAB BoF Shepherds Russ White and Deborah Brungard had been active in helping the proponents narrow the charter to specific use cases. Mirja Kühlewind asked if the BoF had a mailing list yet, and if the charter had wide review. Alvaro said not yet, but there have been active discussions on the BIER and PIM working group lists. He further stated the draft charter had not yet been widely distributed. Jari Arkko asked if there was industry demand for this work. Alvaro said there were some big providers who have been looking for a solution like this, and that would be something for the BoF to assess. Andrew Alston added the BoF seemed like a good idea, but he had reservations about some of the concepts related to limited domain, and if the proposed use cases violated that. The proposed Multicast Source Routing over IPv6 (MSR6) BoF was provisionally approved for IETF 114. At the June 16, 2022 IESG Teleconference the proposed BoF was approved. SECURITY AREA o SCVP Validation Request TLS Extension (VRTE) Responsible AD: Paul Wouters Lars Eggert began the discussion of the proposed SCVP Validation Request TLS Extension (VRTE) BoF by asking why the work was not being done in the TLS Working Group. Roman Danyliw said they had begun some discussion in TLS after the Security Area Directors had asked that as well. Roman expressed that he would prefer to wait on holding a BoF until after TLS had a chance to talk about it. He also said they could give the proponents time in SECDISPATCH as well, and see if a virtual interim BoF meeting between IETF 114 and IETF 115 would help them with the work. The proposed SCVP Validation Request TLS Extension (VRTE) BoF was not approved for IETF 114. SECURITY AREA o Supply Chain Integrity, Transparency, and Trust (SCITT) Responsible AD: Roman Danyliw Roman Danyliw introduced the proposed Supply Chain Integrity, Transparency, and Trust (SCITT) BoF, and mentioned there were two sessions planned for the SCITT BoF. They would hold a non-WG forming virtual interim BoF before IETF 114 to help scope the work, and then hold a WG-forming in-person BoF at IETF 114 with the goal of becoming a working group before IETF 115. Roman said he has two experienced chairs committed to both the virtual interim and the in-person BoF. Éric Vyncke asked how widely advertised would the virtual BoF be. Roman mentioned as wide as he could. The security area general list as well as the usual channels for interim meetings. Cullen Jennings said he liked the rapid pace for the BoF. Mirja Kühlewind asked if they wanted an IAB shepherd for the BoFs. Roman admitted it was advancing rapidly, and anyone who was available from the IAB was welcome to attend the BoF. David Schinazi and Jari Arkko said they would attend the virtual meeting for the IAB. The proposed virtual Supply Chain Integrity, Transparency, and Trust (SCITT) BoF was approved for June 16, 2022. The proposed Supply Chain Integrity, Transparency, and Trust (SCITT) BoF was provisionally approved for IETF 114. At the June 16, 2022 IESG Teleconference the proposed BoF was approved. SECURITY AREA o JSON Web Proofs / JSON Object Signing and Encryption (JWP) Responsible AD: Roman Danyliw Roman Danyliw introduced the proposed JSON Web Proofs / JSON Object Signing and Encryption (JWP) BoF and noted the proponents had suggested rechartering the concluded JOSE Working Group. He noted that there were multiple ways forward for the BoF, including working on extensions of the former working group work. Roman felt the work was useful enough to hold the BoF. There were no objections. Roman noted one of the chairs from the concluded JOSE WG was willing to co-chair the BoF. He was looking for a second. The proposed JSON Web Proofs / JSON Object Signing and Encryption (JWP) BoF was provisionally approved for IETF 114. At the June 16, 2022 IESG Teleconference the proposed BoF was approved. SECURITY AREA/APPLICATION AND REAL-TIME AREA o Secure Asset Transfer Protocol (SATP) Responsible AD: Roman Danyliw Roman Danyliw introduced the proposed Secure Asset Transfer Protocol (SAT) BoF and mentioned that he, Paul Wouters, and Wes Hardaker had discussed the proposal and they thought having a BoF would be useful. They agree that a non-working Group forming BoF may be more appropriate to discuss use cases and scope. Tommy Pauly asked about examples of use cases. There was a brief discussion on use cases and whether this BoF and the proposed TIGRESS BoF were working in the same space. Martin Duke said he did not think the technology overlapped between the two BoF proposals. Cullen Jennings agreed. David Schinazi noted the name of the BoF was not accurate and might be worth changing. Wes Hardaker said when the work had been discussed in DISPATCH the proponents had been encouraged to think about broader applications for the work. Roman noted this was a new area for the IETF, and he wanted to make sure the community interested in the work came to the BoF to talk about what solutions would be useful for them. Martin asked, given the BoF could be either Security Area or Applications and Real-Time Area, if the Security community would show up for the BoF. Wes replied that this was the reason the BoF was going forward in the Security Area. Wes Hardaker noted he had volunteered to be one of the chairs for the BoF. The proposed Secure Asset Transfer Protocol (SATP) BoF was provisionally approved for IETF 114. At the June 16, 2022 IESG Teleconference the proposed BoF was approved.
