2. Action item updates

  In Progress:

    - 2022-06-21: Rob Wilton to send a liaison from the NETCONF WG to 
      802.1 about security coordination for draft-ietf-netconf-keystore. 

  New:

    - 2022-10-19: Dorothy Stanley to forward Rob Wilton's email looking 
      for a designated expert to help update the MAU MIB with new 802.3 
      media types to the 802.3 chair and ask for a recommendation.


3. MAU MIB

  Rob Wilton asked if there was anyone from 802.3 on the call who could 
  help find a designated expert to help update the MAU MIB with new 
  802.3 media types. There was not; Dorothy Stanley will forward Rob's 
  request to the 802.3 chair and ask for a recommendation.

  - Computing-Aware Networking (CAN)

    Computing-Aware Networking (CAN) is a kind of network with dynamic 
    traffic steering that considers both network resource status and 
    computing resource status.

  - More Instant Messaging Interoperability (MIMI)

    More Instant Messaging Interoperability (MIMI) will work on 
    interoperability between different instant messaging applications, 
    including end-to-end encryption.

  - Secure Asset Transfer Protocol (SATP)

    Secure Asset Transfer Protocol (SATP) will develop a standard 
    protocol which operates between two peer gateways for the purpose of 
    transferring digital assets and data between an originator in the 
    origin network to a beneficiary in destination network.

  - JSON Web Proofs (JWP)

    JSON Web Proofs (JWP) BOF proposes to reopen the Javascript Object 
    Signing and Encryption (JOSE) WG to address some of the privacy 
    shortcomings. Specifically, it will develop a set of companion 
    specifications to the existing JOSE specs that are designed to 
    support the privacy-enhancing primitives of selective disclosure and 
    unlinkability. 

  - Time Variant Routing (TVR)

    Time Variant Routing (TVR) will develop a common set of definitions, 
    attributes, behaviors, and algorithms necessary to evaluate routing 
    and forwarding decisions in the presence of planned loss and 
    resumption of network connectivity.

  - RADIUS Extensions Reanimated (RADEXTRA)

    RADIUS Extensions Reanimated (RADEXTRA) proposes to reopen the 
    RADIUS Extensions (RADEXT) WG to address the increasing conflict 
    between the security practices defined in RADIUS and modern 
    cryptographic requirements.

  - 802.3df - Amendment: Media Access Control Parameters for 800 Gb/s 
    and Physical Layers and Management Parameters for 400 Gb/s and 800 
    Gb/s Operation, PAR and CSD

    This project will define Ethernet MAC parameters, physical layer 
    specifications, and management parameters for the transfer of 
    Ethernet format frames at 800 Gb/s over copper, multi-mode fiber, 
    and single-mode fiber based on 100 Gb/s signaling technology. The 
    project will use this work to define derivative physical layer 
    specifications and management parameters for the transfer of 
    Ethernet format frames at 400 Gb/s.

  - 802.3dj - Amendment: Media Access Control Parameters for 1.6 Tb/s 
    and Physical Layers and Management Parameters for 200 Gb/s, 400 
    Gb/s, 800 Gb/s, and 1.6 Tb/s Operation, PAR and CSD

    This project will define Ethernet MAC parameters for 1.6 Tb/s. It 
    will also define physical layer specifications, and management 
    parameters for the transfer of Ethernet format frames at 800 Gb/s 
    and 1.6 Tb/s over copper, multi-mode fiber, and single-mode fiber 
    physical medium dependent (PMD) sublayers, based on greater than 100 
    Gb/s signaling technologies. The project will use this work to 
    define derivative physical layer specifications and management 
    parameters for the transfer of Ethernet format frames at 200 Gb/s 
    and 400 Gb/s.

  - 802.3dk - Amendment: Greater than 50 Gb/s Bidirectional Optical 
    Access PHYs, PAR and CSD

    The scope of the project defines physical layer specifications and 
    management parameters for symmetric bidirectional operation at 
    greater than 50 Gb/s over a single strand of single mode fiber of at 
    least 10 km.

  - 802.11bk - Amendment: 320 MHz Positioning, PAR and CSD

    The scope of this standard is to define one medium access control 
    (MAC) and several physical layer (PHY) specifications for wireless 
    connectivity for fixed, portable, and moving stations (STAs) within 
    a local area. This project will define extensions to positioning 
    mechanisms to support 320 MHz channel operation.


6. Review current coordination items

  - Item 5. Enabling use of Local Addresses for virtualization and IoT 

    Donald Eastlake reported that draft-ietf-intarea-rfc7042bis was 
    adopted by the INTAREA WG in September 2022.

    Roger Marks reported that IEEE 802.1CQ was sent to the INTAREA WG in 
    a liaison statement (https://datatracker.ietf.org/liaison/1794/) in 
    September 2022.

    Russ Housley said that at the next coordination meeting, the group 
    should decide whether this coordination item needs to be kept open 
    for 7042bis, or if it can be closed.

  - Item 25. Layer 2/Layer 3 Interaction for Time-Sensitive Traffic

    Russ Housley reported that the DETNET WG rechartered in July 2022 to 
    cover flow identification and packet treatment, including, for 
    example, forwarding, service protection, and queuing.

  - Item 27. Development of YANG models in the IEEE 802

    Scott Mansfield reported that the IEEE 802 process includes 
    publishing draft YANG modules to the GitHub repository that that 
    provides the backend for yangcatalog.org.

    Rob Wilton reported that Cisco and Nokia are planning a draft on 
    private candidate data stops to allow concurrent updates from 
    multiple clients; he expects the draft to be posted in the next 
    week or so.

    There is still not a project in 802 to work on an IEEE802.1AX YANG 
    model, and the issue about common string formats to represent MAC 
    Addresses in YANG modules remains open.

  - Item 33. Capability Discovery

    Alvaro Retana said that there is not much to report; the LSVR WG is 
    waiting for the base L3DL spec to be finished before picking up the 
    signing work.

  - Item 34. Reliable and Available Wireless (RAW)

    Dorothy Stanley reported that there has not been any luck finding 
    reviewers in 802.11 for the RAW documents. Peter Yee said that he is 
    planning to raise this in his liaison report at the 802 plenary. 
    Russ Housley said that if there is no progress by the next 
    coordination meeting, the group should discuss whether to close this 
    item.

  - Item 35. MAC Address Device Identification for Network and 
      Application Services (MADINAS)

    Dorothy Stanley said that the work on 802.11bh, and 802.11bi is 
    still in the early stages, but they will be liaised once the drafts 
    are ready to be shared.


7. Future meeting plans

  Russ Housley noted that he will give a short briefing on the 
  activities of the IETF-IEEE 802 coordination group during the IAB Open 
  Meeting at IETF 115.
