Many of those comments were not actionable or were not about the latest version of the document. The next step would be for the IAB to vote on whether to approve the document; David asked that this be added to the 2023-01-25 agenda. The IAB agreed that if they approve the document, they should send something back to those who commented explaining why the document is being published. • draft-kpw-iab-privacy-partitioning-00 Active IAB Document IAB Shepherd: David Schinazi A new version of this document was published as draft-iab-privacy- partitioning-00 shortly before this meeting. Mirja Kühlewind noted that the authors are tracking the open issues in GitHub. 1.6. WG Chartering in Progress (Initial Charters Only) Datatracker: https://datatracker.ietf.org/group/chartering/ • More Instant Messaging Interoperability (MIMI) Approved for External Review Pending Edits (Initial Chartering) IESG Telechat: TBD IAB Reviewer: David Schinazi • Post-Quantum Use In Protocols (PQUIP) External Review (Initial Chartering) IESG Telechat: 2023-01-19 IAB Reviewer: Qin Wu • Secure Asset Transfer Protocol (SATP) Internal Review (Initial Chartering) IESG Telechat: 2023-01-19 IAB Reviewer: Tommy Pauly 2. Usable Formal Methods Research Group The IAB approved the formation of the Usable Formal Methods Research Group in the IRTF. Colin Perkins will proceed to charter the Research Group. 3. JSON Web Signatures in W3C Tommy Pauly reported that W3C has recently taken up work that appears to extend RFC 7515 and RFC 7518, but the title ("JSON Web Signature 2020") makes it look like an update to the specification, which is potentially misleading. Martin Thomson (IETF's liaison manager to the W3C) entered a comment on the document raising this concern, and asked the IAB whether they want to take any further action at this time. After a discussion, the IAB agreed that it would be best to handle this informally, if possible. Ideally, Martin Thomson's comment on the document will be enough to prompt a change to the title. Tommy Pauly will send email to Martin and ask him to let the IAB know if it looks like the potential confusion is not being cleared up. 4. E-Impact Mailing List Jari Arkko noted that the E-Impact Workshop was a success, and there has been a lot of continued discussion on the mailing list, which is currently limited to workshop participants. Jari asked whether the IAB should open the list up, or create a new open list to continue these discussions. Mirja Kühlewind asked whether these discussions will lead to something like an IAB Program. Jari Arkko replied that he thinks an IETF WG or IRTF RG is a more likely outcome, given the scope. The IAB agreed that a new mailing list should be created, and that it would probably make more sense as an IETF non-WG list at this stage, rather than an IAB list. Jari Arkko will follow up. 5. Next IAB Meeting The next IAB Meeting will be on 2023-01-25 at 0700 PST. 6. Executive Session: ISOC Board of Trustees Appointment The IAB discussed the IETF appointment to the ISOC Board of Trustees in an executive session.
