1.2. Agenda bash and announcements 

  Items on the IANA Naming Function Review (IFR) Team and the 
  ICANN Board of Directors Listening Session were added to the 
  agenda. Cindy Morgan reminded everyone to update their conflict of 
  interest disclosures.


1.3. Meeting Minutes

1.4. Action Item Review 

Done:

  • 2023-03-08: Mirja Kühlewind, Suresh Krishnan, and Jari Arkko 
    to find a speaker to invite to the IAB Open Meeting to talk 
    about the environmental impacts of the Internet.

On Hold: 

  • 2021-11-17: Mirja Kühlewind and Cindy Morgan to put together 
    some options for the IAB Website revamp for the IAB to review. 
    (Work progressing in the background)

  • 2022-11-23: Liaison Coordinators to add information about 
    potential candidates to reach out to for future IAB-appointed 
    positions to the private IAB wiki.

  • 2023-02-08: Mirja Kühlewind to follow up on the Liaison 
    Statements to ITU-T SG13 on Update on Quantum Networking and  
    the new work item Y.SAN "Requirements and architecture of 
    service aware network."

In Progress:

  • 2022-07-24: Mallory Knodel and Mirja Kühlewind to draft a 
    document outlining the architectural principles that the IAB 
    thinks are important and need to be understood when 
    considering Internet governance. 	

  • 2022-11-06: Jari Arkko to update draft-arkko-iab-data-
    minimization-principle based on the IAB discussion at IETF 
    115. 

  • 2022-12-07: Cindy Morgan to send a message to arch-d list 
    about possible adoption of draft-arkko-iab-data-minimization-
    principle once Jari Arkko updates the document and confirms 
    that the message is ready to go.

  • 2023-03-08: Mallory Knodel to draft an outline for an IAB 
    response to EU consultation on "sender-pays."

 
Updated:

  • 2023-03-01: Cullen Jennings, Chris Wood, and Qin Wu to work on 
    a proposal for an IAB workshop on identity management.

New: 

  • 2023-04-12: Cindy Morgan to send a call for nominations for    
    the IETF delegate to the ICANN NomCom.

  • 2023-04-12: All IAB to provide input on the slides for the 
    IETF presentation at RIPE 86 Rotterdam.

  • 2023-04-12: Mirja Kühlewind to check with Ted Hardie and 
    Alissa Cooper about the history behind the IAB not appointing 
    a liaison to the IANA Naming Function Review (IFR).

  • 2023-04-12: Lars Eggert to start a draft document with 
    feedback to ICANN about the qualifications, characteristics, 
    and qualities needed in the next ICANN President and CEO.

2. ICANN NomCom Appointment

  Cindy Morgan will send a call for nominations for the IETF 
  delegate to the ICANN NomCom. ICANN has requested a deadline of 
  2023-05-31 for this name.



3. IAB response to the EC on "The future of the electronic 
   communications sector and its infrastructure" 


  Mallory Knodel has begun a draft outline for an IAB response. 
  She will continue working on the draft and other IAB members 
  are encouraged to make additions. The response deadline is 
  2023-05-19.



4. IETF presentation at RIPE 86 Rotterdam

  Mirja Kühlewind has begun drafting some slides based on an IETF 
  overview template from Greg Wood. The IAB discussed what type 
  of information would be most useful to the RIPE community and 
  which IETF topics should be highlighted. 



5. Request for Appointment of Members and Liaisons to the Second 
   IANA Naming Function Review (IFR) 

  Five years ago, the IAB decided not to make a liaison 
  appointment to the IFR. The IFR is currently being reviewed by 
  ICANN, and the IAB has again been invited to appoint a liaison. 
  Mirja Kühlewind took an action to email Alissa Cooper and Ted 
  Hardie to ask about the history behind the previous IAB's 
  decision.



6. ICANN Board of Directors Listening Session

  The IETF leadership has been asked to provide input on the 
  qualifications and characteristics the ICANN board should look 
  for in a new CEO. Lars Eggert will start a draft document to 
  collect feedback. 



7. Next IAB Meeting

  The next IAB meeting will be on 2023-04-19 at 0700 PDT.
