1. Regular monthly meeting slot

   The group confirmed the regular meeting time as the first Tuesday of the
   month at 1500 UTC, starting September 5, 2023.


2. Letter to the UN Technical Envoy about the definition of Civil Society

   The group discussed the proposed letter to the UN Technical Envoy about
   the definition of civil society and the importance of the technical
   community.  The group agreed to work with ISOC to make sure any action is
   as effective as possible.


3. Update on proposal for ISOC-IAB Policy Roundtable @ IETF 118

   Karen O'Donoghue provided a brief update on the progress.


4. Update on Fair Sharing (aka Sender Pays)

   Carl Gahnberg provided an update on Fair Sharing (aka Sender Pays). He
   said that there is still a lot of interest in Europe, Brazil, and India.
   ISOC is planning to continue to monitor any developments, develop a
   primer on this topic, and are planning an Internet Impact brief on the
   EU proposal.


5. North American policy work update

   Natalie Campbell provided an update on the Online News Act in Canada. She
   discussed the impact of the bill on the Internet and agreed to continue to
   monitor developments in other places like California.


6. Update on upcoming UN/ITU/GDC engagements

   The group deferred this item to the next meeting.

   IGF planning (depending on accepted sessions)
   Client-side scanning (CSA)
