Milestone review:
any changes to: https://datatracker.ietf.org/wg/cellar/about/
Jul 2022 Submit specification for FFV1 video codec version 4 to IESG
(Standards Track)
DISCUSSION 1: proposal is to remove this milestone.
agreed!
DISCUSSION 2: of codecs, tags, chapter-codecs and control...
a) which one(s) is next?
b) are we still committed to doing them all?
- codecs and tags are really important
- chapter-codecs is being worked on, have a Google Summer of Code
student working on code.
** ECMAScript inside Matroska. - control tracks might never get published? (Removed from Matroska).
Might never use these features. -
matroska-v5, could start working on. Start at end of summer! This
will be an extension document, not a -bis document. -
tags is probably the fastest, so work on it next.
- codecs will take more time, but is probably more relevant to people
AUTH48 status report
recap of IANA issues with Matroska document.
- are we done yet?
- Steve thinks he has agreed to all the Matroska proposed changes from
the RFC Editor - it's good to reply to email and make sure they know
we agree. - We're just making sure the requirements in the document matches what
will appear in the IANA registry.
FLAC IESG ballot
- still in RFC-editor queue.
FFv1 in PNG wrapper question
- Michael and Spencer talked to our new AD about this
- The work needs to be done in W3C, not in the IETF - they are
responsible for PNG - Our new AD, Orie, has experience as a W3C document editor
- We need a champion, who can take this forward
- We need at least one W3C member who can help with this - perhaps
Library of Congress?
AOB?
- no other business.
Next meeting is 2024-08-27. (end of summer)
