1. RASPRG Review

Ignacio Castro joined the IAB to give an overview of the Research and
Analysis of Standard-Setting Processes Proposed Research Group
  (RASPRG).

The goal of the Research Group is to get an understanding of the
standardization process via evidence-based reproducible work. Its
outputs include joint reports/papers and tools/data/open-source
software. The RG does not plan to make hierarchical comparisons
between SDOs or directly influence IETF operations.

RASPRG has met at nearly every IETF meeting since IETF 114, and plans
to continue holding 2-3 meetings a year, going forward. They are also
planning to start looking at data from other SDOs beyond the IETF.

Colin Perkins said that he plans to approve RASPRG as a full Research
  Group soon.

2. Meeting IETF Counsel

The IETF legal counsel, Brad Biddle and Vigdis Bronder, joined the
IAB to go through questions from the IAB on:

    • How the Note Well applies for IAB workshops under Chatham House
      Rule
    • Whether IPR disclosures are required for the Applied Networking
Research Workshop, which is run as an ACM-sponsored conference
      that colocates with IETF
    • The legal implications of "side meetings" with regards to the
Note Well and IPR disclosure rules.

3. Reviewing New Work

Tommy Pauly asked the IAB to discuss any BOF reports or items from
the New Work Help Desk by email.

4. NomCom IAB Job Description

Cullen Jennings asked the IAB to review the IAB job description and
send him any feedback by 2024-08-02 so that he can send the job
  description to the NomCom Chair.

5. Executive Session: Vote on RZERC Appointment

Wes Hardaker recused himself from the discussion and vote. The IAB
voted to select Willem Toorop as the IETF representative on the ICANN
Root Zone Evolution Review Committee (RZERC).
