RASPRG Review Ignacio Castro joined the IAB to give an overview of the Research and Analysis of Standard-Setting Processes Proposed Research Group (RASPRG). The goal of the Research Group is to get an understanding of the standardization process via evidence-based reproducible work. Its outputs include joint reports/papers and tools/data/open-source software. The RG does not plan to make hierarchical comparisons between SDOs or directly influence IETF operations. RASPRG has met at nearly every IETF meeting since IETF 114, and plans to continue holding 2-3 meetings a year, going forward. They are also planning to start looking at data from other SDOs beyond the IETF. Colin Perkins said that he plans to approve RASPRG as a full Research Group soon. 2. Meeting IETF Counsel The IETF legal counsel, Brad Biddle and Vigdis Bronder, joined the IAB to go through questions from the IAB on: • How the Note Well applies for IAB workshops under Chatham House Rule • Whether IPR disclosures are required for the Applied Networking Research Workshop, which is run as an ACM-sponsored conference that colocates with IETF • The legal implications of "side meetings" with regards to the Note Well and IPR disclosure rules. 3. Reviewing New Work Tommy Pauly asked the IAB to discuss any BOF reports or items from the New Work Help Desk by email. 4. NomCom IAB Job Description Cullen Jennings asked the IAB to review the IAB job description and send him any feedback by 2024-08-02 so that he can send the job description to the NomCom Chair. 5. Executive Session: Vote on RZERC Appointment Wes Hardaker recused himself from the discussion and vote. The IAB voted to select Willem Toorop as the IETF representative on the ICANN Root Zone Evolution Review Committee (RZERC).
