4.1 WG creation
4.1.1 Proposed for IETF review

 o Secure Shell Maintenance (sshm)

The IESG approved the draft WG charter for IETF review pending 
edits to the text of the charter to be provided by Deb Cooley. The 
Secretariat will send a WG Review announcement, with a separate 
message to new-work@ietf.org. The Secretariat will place the WG on 
the agenda for the next IESG Teleconference after the conclusion 
of external review.

4.2.1 Under evaluation for IETF review

 o Routing In Fat Trees (rift)

The IESG decided to proceed with IETF review of the revised 
charter. The Secretariat will send a WG Review announcement, with 
a separate message to new-work@ietf.org. The Secretariat will 
place the WG on the agenda for the next IESG Teleconference on September 19, 2024.


 o Messaging Layer Security (mls)

The IESG decided to proceed with IETF review of the revised 
charter pending edits to the text of the charter to be provided by 
Paul Wouters. The Secretariat will send a WG Review announcement, 
with a separate message to new-work@ietf.org. The Secretariat will 
place the WG on the agenda for the next IESG Teleconference after 
the conclusion of external review.

6. Management issues

6.1 IETF 125 (Roman Danyliw)

The management issue was discussed. Pursuant to Step 4b of the 
IETF Venue Identification and Selection Process (https://
www.ietf.org/meeting/planning/), the IESG was asked by the IETF 
LLC to decide if Shenzhen would meet the core objective in RFC 
8718 (BCP 226) of “Why We Meet”.  After consultation with the 
community via the July 2024 survey, the IESG decided in the 
affirmative – meeting in Shenzhen would satisfy that core 
objective.


6.2 [IANA #1373058] Designated experts for RFC 9650 (IANA)

The management issue was discussed. The IESG approved Chris Hopps 
<chopps@chopps.org>, Hannes Gredler <hannes@gredler.at>, and Les 
Ginsberg <ginsberg@cisco.com> as the designated experts for RFC 9650.


6.3 [IANA #1373060] Designated Experts for RFC 9605 (Secure Frame (SFrame) (IANA)

The management issue was discussed. An action item was assigned to 
Murray Kucherawy. 


6.4 IANA #1373059] Designated experts for RFC 9588 (SPAKE) (Paul Wouters)

The management issue was discussed. The IESG approved Simo Sorce 
<simo@redhat.com> and Greg Hudson <ghudson@mit.edu> as the 
designated experts for RFC 9588 (SPAKE).
