3. IETF New Work summary

Web Bot Auth (webbotauth) - Web and Internet Transport Area
This BOF is a placeholder for a Working Group that is expected to be
chartered before IETF 124. The Web Bot Authentication (webbotauth)
Working Group will standardize methods for cryptographically
authenticating automated clients and providing additional information
about their operators to Web sites. Its products are intended for use by
sites that primarily serve human users.
PKI, Logs, And Tree Signatures (plants) - Security Area
This BOF will discuss chartering a Working Group to address the impact
of large post-quantum signatures on PKIs with Certificate Transparency
(CT; RFC 6962 and RFC 9162), when used in interactive protocols like TLS
(RFC 8446).
Authenticated Transfer (atp) - Applications and Real-Time Area
Authenticated Transfer (AT) is a collection of protocol components which
together provide a generic framework for interoperable social web
applications, using self-certifying network data. This BoF is to discuss
developing a narrowly-defined subset of protocol components within the
IETF for AT: the public repository data structure, wire serialization
format, and public synchronization mechanism.

P802.3dt - Amendment - Ethernet Metadata Services, PAR and CSD
The scope of the project is the specification of additions and
modifications to IEEE Std 802.3 to support the optional exchange of
metadata in Ethernet packets, or independent of Ethernet packets by
Ethernet Physical layers that operate at MAC data rates of 50 Gb/s and
above.
P802.1CBec - Amendment to IEEE Standard 802.1CB-2017
This amendment changes the title to "IEEE Standard for Local and
metropolitan area networks--Frame Replication and Elimination for
Reliability Amendment: Sequence Recovery Function Refinements and
Parameter Configuration."
This amendment refines the sequence recovery function and adds an
informative annex describing recommended values for the sequence
recovery function parameters, and provides guidance regarding frame
buffering in relay and end systems to assist in the usage of Frame
Replication and Elimination for Reliability. This amendment also
includes technical and editorial corrections in the description of
existing IEEE Std 802.1CB functionality.
P802.1AEef - Amendment to IEEE Standard 802.1AE-2018
This amendment specifies optional use of the Ascon-AEAD128 authenticated
encryption with associated data scheme, as specified in NIST SP 800-232,
as a MACsec (Media Access Control security) Cipher Suite.
P802.1AReg - Amendment to IEEE Standard 802.1AR-2018
This amendment to IEEE Std 802.1AR-2018 provides unique per-device
identifiers (DevIDs) and their management, utilizing cryptographic
binding based on Module-Lattice-Based Digital Signatures (ML-DSA). The
amendment will include support for DevIDs bound by the three algorithms
ML-DSA-87, ML-DSA-65, and ML-DSA-44. In addition, the amendment will
provide necessary changes to IEEE Std 802.1AR-2018 management modules
for support of the ML-DSA algorithms.
P802.1Qee - Amendment to IEEE Standard 802.1Q-2022
This amendment specifies procedures and YANG data models to extend
bridge attributes for traffic engineering for bridged networks that
include wireless technologies whose delay variance is beyond that of
point-to-point wireline MAC technologies. Additionally, this amendment
addresses technical and editorial corrections to existing IEEE Std
802.1Q functionality.
P802.11bi - Amendment to IEEE Standard 802.11-2020
This amendment specifies modifications to the IEEE Std 802.11 medium
access control (MAC) specification to specify new mechanisms that
address and improve user privacy.

Item 27. Development of YANG models in the IEEE 802
In Madrid, the following solution was proposed to resolve the
incompatibility between the string format used to represent MAC
addresses in YANG modules between the IETF and the IEEE:

Item 33. Capability Discovery
Russ Housley reported that the authors of the L3DL draft have said that
they will redo the draft in a way that uses the 802.1 standard, but the
new version has not been posted yet.
6. Potential new items identified in Madrid
Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC) (Deb Cooley, Peter Yee)
There is work on this in 802.1 and 802.11 as well as in the IETF LAMPS
Working Group. This will be added to the list of coordination items.
