Draft of message to be sent after approval:
From: The IESG <iesg-secretary@ietf.org> To: RFC Editor <rfc-editor@rfc-editor.org> Cc: The IESG <iesg@ietf.org>, <iana@iana.org>, ietf-announce@ietf.org Subject: Re: Experimental RFC to be: draft-irtf-mobopts-l2-abstractions-08.txt The IESG has no problem with the publication of 'Unified Layer 2 (L2) Abstractions for Layer 3 (L3)-Driven Fast Handover' <draft-irtf-mobopts-l2-abstractions-08.txt> as an Experimental RFC. The IESG would also like the IRSG or RFC-Editor to review the comments in the datatracker (https://datatracker.ietf.org/public/pidtracker.cgi?command=view_id&dTag=15040&rfc_flag=0) related to this document and determine whether or not they merit incorporation into the document. Comments may exist in both the ballot and the comment log. The IESG contact person is Jari Arkko. A URL of this Internet-Draft is: http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-irtf-mobopts-l2-abstractions-08.txt The process for such documents is described at http://www.rfc-editor.org/indsubs.html. Thank you, The IESG Secretary
Technical Summary This is a specification of abstract API between layers. Working Group Summary This is a result of the MOBOPTS RG. Protocol Quality Jari Arkko has reviewed this specification for the IESG, but only with respect to potential conflicts with IETF work. Note to RFC Editor The IESG has no problem publishing this document. IESG Note Based on the Working Group Summary, the IESG believes that the second variant suggested in Appendix A of draft-irtf-rfcs-0 is appropriate for this document: "This document is not an IETF Internet Standard. It represents the consensus of the MOBOPTS Research Group of the Internet Research Task Force. It may be considered for standardization by the IETF in the future."
