Technical Summary These documents define a BGP-based mechanism that allows a BGP speaker to send to its BGP peer a set of route filters that the peer would use to constrain/filter its outbound routing updates to the speaker. Working Group Summary This mechanism is widely deployed by multiple vendors and the technology has had no dissent and is considered very useful. Protocol Quality The extension is widely deployed and there are many interoperable implementations.
