Preparation, Enforcement, and Comparison of Internationalized Strings Representing Usernames and Passwords
RFC 8265

Received changes through RFC Editor sync (created alias RFC 8265, changed abstract to 'This document describes updated methods for handling Unicode strings representing usernames and passwords.  The previous approach was known as SASLprep (RFC 4013) and was based on Stringprep (RFC 3454).  The methods specified in this document provide a more sustainable approach to the handling of internationalized usernames and passwords.  This document obsoletes RFC 7613.', changed pages to 26, changed standardization level to Proposed Standard, changed state to RFC, added RFC published event at 2017-10-05, changed IESG state to RFC Published, created obsoletes relation between draft-ietf-precis-7613bis and RFC 7613)
