Regarding draft-lim-mpeg4-mime-01.txt, this revision still does not clearly distinguish between MIME types for file formats, which are covered in this document, and MIME types for streaming transport, which are covered in the RTP payload format documents. This is not hard to fix; detailed comments will be provided to the document authors. Even though draft-ietf-avt-mpeg4-simple-05-draft1.txt was not submitted for Internet-Draft publication before the IETF meeting, this draft was reviewed in the AVT session. As your liaison stated, this draft did take into account all the comments from the WG Last Call, however the issue of how to specify the temporal distortion imposed by the sender due to interleaving was unresolved among the draft authors. The rendition in -05-draft1 was also substantially more complicated than what was in -04, which was a concern for the AVT working group. The interleaving issue has been discussed further among the authors and AVT chairs in person at the IETF meeting and in email since then. A revision -05 was posted as an Internet-Draft and we were informed that a revision -06 is expected after the MPEG meeting currently in progress. Once that is posted, we will give the working group one week to review the changes to confirm that it is ready for submission to the IESG for publication as a Proposed Standard RFC. We want to make clear that these steps will be done through the AVT working group mailing list; it is not necessary to wait until the next IETF meeting. Stephen Casner Colin Perkins IETF AVT Co-Chairs
