Subject: Megaco Packages

The ATM Forum has agreed to send to straw ballot an addendum to the Loop
Emulation Service specification (af-vmoa-0145.000) that specifies the use of
MEGACO signaling for the delivery of the line-side telephony services. The
ATM Forum is concerned that this document references certain MEGACO packages
which are currently defined in Internet Drafts, specifically the following:

draft-taylor-megaco-enhalpkgs
draft-manyfolks-megaco-caspackage
draft-boyle-megaco-alerting

The completion and publication of these packages in the form of one or more
RFCs is now considered urgent by the ATM Forum. The specification in
question is expected to go to final ballot in April 2002. Availability of
these packages in a form more appropriate to be used as an authoritative
reference in a published specification is considered highly desirable.

We request reply concerning the status and intent of the aforementioned
drafts.
