Recommendation T.82 (JBIG)

Dear Mr. Coya:

It has been noted in the IETF Internet Fax Working that the IETF Page of
Intellectual Property Rights Notices at http://www.ietf.org/ipr.html does
not contain statements on the use of the JBIG compression standard.
Implementation of the JBIG standard, as defined in ITU-T Recommendation
T.82, may be required to practice the IETF RFC 2301 (TIFF-FX) standard. The
patent statements and licensing declarations pertaining to T.82 are
available from the ITU-T Patent Statement and Licensing Declaration Database
at http://www.itu.int/ITU-T/dbase/patent/. Bringing this reference to your
attention for inclusion in the IETF Page of Intellectual Property Rights
Notices is in response to a comment made on draft-ietf-fax-tiff-fx-12.txt
