A draft, "Telephony routing Information Protocol (TRIP),"
draft-ietf-iptel-trip-00.txt, has been recently submitted to the IETF as
a proposed standard.

Cisco has a patent pending that may relate to this proposed standard. If
this proposed standard is adopted by IETF and any patents issue to Cisco
or its subsidiaries with claims that are necessary for
practicing this standard, any party will be able to obtain a license
from Cisco to use any such patent claims under openly specified,
reasonable, non-discriminatory terms to implement and fully comply with
the standard.
