This is to advise the IETF that Certicom believes it has rights under
patents and/or pending applications which may be applicable to
specifications being developed by the S/MIME Mail Security working
group.  These include, but are not limited to, patents and/or pending
applications for cryptographic protocols, cryptographic computational
techniques, cryptographic protocol formatting, and techniques for
defending cryptographic protocols against attacks.

If part(s) of these specifications are included in IETF standards and
Certicom has patents and/or pending application(s) that are essential
to implementation of such included part(s) in said standard, Certicom
is prepared to grant a license on such included part on reasonable,
non-discriminatory terms and conditions, provided that the licensee
provides a similar grant for any relevant patents under their control
to Certicom.
