Re: IPR Statement S/MIME

Dear Mr. Coya:

Don Hall, was awarded U.S. Patent No. 5,126,728 in 1992 that may
comprise methods used in S/MIME.

S/MIME methods may be derived from intellectual property
described in said patent. If S/MIME is established as an Internet
Standard, to the extent that Don Halls's Intellectual property is
comprised therein, nonexclusive licenses, on relevant patent claims,
will be made openly available for a reasonable fee, without
discrimination. These licenses will be granted for implementation and
use as defined in the various MIME related RFCs if it is approved as a
standard.
