Further to Nortel Networks Statement pertaining to
draft-chisholm-disman-active-alarm, Nortel Networks Limited has an issued
patent that is believed may pertain to at least a portion of this IETF RFC
3877:

Title: Alarm Management Information Base (MIB)
Tag: RFC 3877  >
Nortel Networks U.S. Patent No.6,697,970, entitled "generic fault management
method and system, may contain claims that are believed may be necessary for
practicing the resulting IETF Standard. In this regard, Nortel Networks will
make available licenses on fair, reasonable, reciprocal, and
non-discriminatory terms, including royalties and/or other payments, to the
extent of such necessary claims it owns for the purposes of complying with
such resulting IETF Standard.
