This Liaison Statement informs that ITU-T Study Group 20 initiated a new work item on draft Technical Report ITU-T YSTR.IoT-IMS “Requirements and capability framework for identification management service of IoT device” and calls for related information. ITU-T Study Group 20 would like to inform you that a new work item on draft Technical Report ITU-T YSTR.IoT-IMS “Requirements and capability framework for identification management service of IoT device” was initiated at the Study Group 20 meeting, held in Geneva from 18–28 July 2022. The draft Technical Report focuses on identification management service of the IoT, which is independent from specific existing identification schemes and specific IoT devices. The scope of the Technical Report includes: - Introduction on identification management service of IoT device - Service requirements of identification management service of IoT device - Capabilities framework of identification management service of IoT device - Appendix: use cases for identification management service of IoT device The interoperation interfaces and procedures between the identification management service and the existing identification scheme are beyond the scope of the Report. Neither security mechanism nor regulatory policies related to the proposed ID management service lie within its scope. More information can be found in the attachment. |
