ITU-T Study Group 13 would like to inform ITU-T SG11, 3GPP RAN3, 3GPP SA5, IETF
CCAMP, IETF OPSAREA and ITU-R about the initiation of two new Recommendations
(i) ITU-T Y.NGNe-cp_mobility: “Mobility management and control framework in NGN
evolution control plane”, and (ii) ITU-T Y.NGNe-cp_na: “Network attachment
control framework in NGN evolution control plane”, which has been agreed at the
ITU-T Study Group 13 meeting on 15-26 July 2024.

The Recommendation ITU-T Y.NGNe-cp_mobility "Mobility management and control
framework in NGN evolution control plane" provides Mobility management and
control framework for an NGN evolution control plane (NGNe-cp) architecture
[ITU-T Y.2325] that supports decoupling of the signalling handling
functionality and the user plane control functionality in the control plane.

The Recommendation ITU-T Y.NGNe-cp_na: “Network attachment control framework in
NGN evolution control plane” provides Network attachment control framework for
an NGN evolution control plane (NGNe-cp) [ITU-T Y.2325] architecture that
supports decoupling of the signalling handling functionality and the user plane
control functionality in the control plane.
