1. Overall Description 5G-ACIA is glad to inform the IETF DetNet Working Group about the publication of 5G-ACIA's white paper on “DetNet-based deterministic IP communication over 5G network for industrial applications”, published in September 2024 (link). The document includes insights on the applicability of DetNet for 5G Industrial use cases, as well as related deployment scenarios from 5G-ACIA viewpoint. We hope it will be of interest to you, and we welcome your views. The white paper includes a summary of the IETF standardization work on DetNet. Additionally, it identifies the potential for progress on the standardization of the DetNet Controller Plane (for the IP data plane). About 5G-ACIA The "5G Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation" (5G-ACIA) has been established in Frankfurt/Main, Germany in 2018. 5G-ACIA generally strives to establish 5G in the industrial domain and to make 5G for industry a success story. 5G-ACIA brings together leading players from both the industrial domain and the ICT domain on a global level with currently 100 member organizations. 5G-ACIA does not intend to develop its own standards but supports other ongoing standardization as well as regulatory activities in an optimal way by bringing a consolidated view of the 5G-ACIA members. 5G-ACIA has been a Market Representation Partner of 3GPP since November 2018. 5G-ACIA is continuously collecting, discussing, and analyzing use cases and provides industrial requirements to various 3GPP studies and working groups. 5G-ACIA is the leading global organization for Industrial 5G. More details can be found on the 5G-ACIA website at www.5g-acia.org. 2. Actions Please take into consideration the published white paper for your future work. 3.
