The WBA Access Network Metrics (ANM) Group would like to formally liaise the Internet Draft submission for an RFC specifying the technical behavior for using Connect-Info as a key RADIUS attribute to share Wi-Fi network metrics. Published originally back on 15th October 2024 by Mark Grayson (Cisco Systems), Joshua Redmore (CableLabs), Sri Gundavelli (Cisco Systems), Michael Sym (Single Digits) and Bruno Tomás (WBA), the submission looks to define a syntax for the RADIUS Connect-Info attribute used in Wi-Fi networks. This serves to enable clients to provide RADIUS servers information pertaining to the operation of an IEEE 802.11 wireless network. Moreover, instead of duplicating specification work in WBA, the WBA Access Network Metrics members are looking to reference and use the IETF RADEXT Draft RFC as part of the project including driving widescale deployments of the Draft functionality described in the draft.
