Body
1. Description

The IETF is progressing a document that will deprecate the use of the IPv6
Router Alert. The summary from the abstract is:

This document deprecates the IPv6 Router Alert Option. Protocols that use the
Router Alert Option may continue to do so, even in future versions. However,
new protocols that are standardized in the future must not use the Router Alert
Option.

The current draft can be found here:
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-ietf-6man-deprecate-router-alert
[1].

Any current 3GPP protocols that use the Router Alert Option can continue to use
it, but any new 3GPP protocols must not use it.

2. Upcoming Meetings

IETF 123, 19 - 25 July 2025, Madrid, ES
IETF 124, 1-7 November, Montreal, CA
