ITU-T Study Group 13 is pleased to inform about the initiation of a new Supplement to ITU-T Y.3510 (Y.sup.cni) "Cloud Computing - Technical Considerations of Network Infrastructure". This Supplement provides technical considerations for designing network architectures in cloud infrastructures that support key workloads such as machine learning, high-performance computing (HPC), and distributed storage. It analyses the network traffic characteristics associated with these workloads and establishes a technical framework encompassing: - Scalable and non-blocking network architectures; - High-performance data transport mechanisms; and - Abstraction of advanced network capabilities. We would like to exchange information on this topic with your group and to collaborate in the fields of cloud computing. |
