Body
ITU-T Study Group 17 (SG17) is pleased to inform IETF IAB and IESG that ITU-T
SG17 meeting held in Geneva from 8 to 17 April 2025 initiated a Correspondence
Group on SG17 Strategy for Artificial Intelligence (AI) Security in
Telecommunications/ICTs (CG-AISEC-STRAT) to establish, develop, and promote a
comprehensive SG17 strategy on AI security in the context of
telecommunications/ICTs. This strategy aims to position SG17 as the lead Study
Group for AI security within ITU-T, while also ensuring effective coordination
with other relevant organizations.

The CG-AISEC-STRAT has produced a draft Deliverable entitled “Artificial
intelligence security standardization strategy”, which consolidates the study
results achieved to date. More information can be found in the Attachment.

ITU-T SG17 will regularly review and update this strategy to keep it aligned
with evolving technologies and market needs. SG17 is therefore seeking feedback
on the strategy itself, and we also look forward to continued collaboration
with you in AI security standardization studies.
