July 28, 2021 (UTC-7) 14:30-15:30 Wednesday Session II Slides: https://datatracker.ietf.org/meeting/111/session/mpls/ Codimd for Notes Taking: https://codimd.ietf.org/notes-ietf-111-mpls/ Meetecho: http://www.meetecho.com/ietf111/mpls/ Jabber: xmpp:mpls@jabber.ietf.org?join Chairs: Loa Andersson, Tarek Saad and Nicolai Leymann Secretary: Mach Chen 1. Administrivia & WG Status - Presenter: WG Chairs, 10 (mins) Tarek gave the WG report. Loa: Thanks Adrian for his great work on shepherding RFC 9041. Loa: comments on SFL draft that is waiting on draft-ietf-mpls-sfl-control which is in WG LC, that should go ahead. And Tarek agreed. Accee: The waiting on draft (rtgwg-policy-model), some late comments received on a scecond YANG doctor review, it should be sent to IETF LC soon. Loa: Some of the documents listed here were on the agenda of the joint session (with PALS and Detnet WG) yesterday. 2. Status report on MPLS YANG models - Presenter: Kamran (5 mins) Tarek: is mLDP MT related YANG inlcuded in the mLDP YANG model? Kamran: No, MT is out of scope for both LDP and mLDP yang, if the WG wants to work on MT, it should be covered in a separate document. 3. Report from the MPLS Open DT - Presenter: Loa (5 mins) Loa gave a report about status of the MPLS Open DT activities, no question from the floor. 4. No Further Fast Reroute - Draft: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-kompella-mpls-nffrr - Presenter: Kireeti Kompella (3 mins) Notes: for quick update and calling for WG adoption. Kireeti asked WG adoption, asked guidance on SPL for NoFRR and early allocation. Tarek: It's ready for WG adoption. Loa: Basically agre, but a bit confusion about the early allocation, don't want to do an earyly allocation for something that will not happen. It can be converged on using the FAI style of indicaiton and then we to put that in to the document for clarificaton. Kireeti: We an make a normative reference to FAI here and handle the allocation in the FAI, Will clarify this in the document. Loa: Then we need a registry for FAI flags. Kireeti: Yes, we should creat an IANA registry for it. Rakesh: Question to Tarek and Loa, MPLS iOAM has the similar requirment about the indicator/flag, does it mean all relevant drafts can ask WG adoption now? Loa: We can start the process for WG adoption for all the documents that are hanning on how we do the allocation of the indicator. You can send the request to WG chairs. Tarek: Yes, it should not block the WG adoption process, in case where you ask for the SPL, you can elaborate the options under considering and let the reivewers understand the sitaution. Rakesh: I got the answer and we can request for adoption. 5. Signal Degrade Indication in Segment Routing over MPLS Network - Draft: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-han-mpls-sdi-sr - Presenter: Liuyan Han (10 mins) Tarek: Are you asking for a new channel type for the function? Liuyan: No, we are using an existing channel and request a new flag. Fan: State the importance of the draft and ask WG to confirm whether it is suitable for this WG to process the flag allcoation. Yuji: Given that the Channel type uses assigned to ITU-T G.8113.1, the assignment of EI flag should be done in ITU-T. Of course, Sharing information with MPLS WG is useful. Loa: Can send a liansion to ITU-T, and process it in MPLS WG as usual. Greg: The channle type assighed to ITU-T, there is no flag registry for the channel type in IANA, the PDU format is defined in ITU-T, it may be more suitable to ask ITU-T to make the assignment. Fan: We also confuse and are not sure where to request/allcoate the flag in question. The ITU-T has closed the MPLS-TP related work for five years, we think it's better to start the work here. If possible and necessary, the IETF can send liansion to ITU-T to how can we proceed this work. We need guidance from the chairs and WG. Tarek: We need do some backgroud investigation on this and get back to you. Suggest you to send a email to the list, then any body can comment on it. the chairs will respond as well. Yuji: (to Fan), ITU-T on MPLS-TP is not closed, it's contribution driven. you may also have a contribution to Q10/SG15. Liuyan: Prefer to handle it here (IETF MPLS WG). Adrian: +1 to Greg's question, or are we talking about https://www.iana.org/assignments/g-…s/g-ach-parameters.xhtml#fault-flag 6. mLDP Extensions for Multi-Topology Routing - Draft: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-wijnands-mpls-mldp-multi-topology - Presenter: Mankamana Mishra (10 mins) No question from the floor. 7. Label Distribution Using ARP - Draft: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-kompella-mpls-larp - Presenter: Kireeti (7 mins) Kireeti requested WG adoption. Tarek: will record your reqeust and put it in the queue.
