Q: Is the code from CCSDS for the TL's publicly available?

^CL not TL

Jorge - see the ion-dtn project in SourceForge - the ION implementation of DTN has the CLs included.

@Jordan I'm aware and using ION currently

I'm asking about what CCSDS wrote, like this UDPCL

@Jordan currently running close to 30+ local ION nodes here :-)

aha - not sure about that since on the nasa programs I work we are using ION.. 30+ nodes - that's great! I just set up 5 VM servers to be able to start looking at many more nodes than the typical deep space mission..

I think I have said this before, but NHDP is the NeighborHOOD Discovery Protocol of MANET, a totally different beast (aimed at discovering the 2-hop neighborhood of a node).

Maybe I am missing the point, but if within a region nodes don't change, then isn't a region similar to the Internet and thus late-binding is not needed?

Yeah - that was why I mention subnetting. Building a prefix tree of CIDR kind of thing

Does a changed destination need to be considered? i.e. node1 going to regionA then having to, for a reason or other, go too regionB instead?

+1 for Stuart Card's comment on not painting ourselves into a corner. Developing naming & addressing further without having at least a concept of routing is dangerous, IMO.

if we need more time for discussions, then I would suggest to plan for interim rather wait for IETF115.
