Agenda bashing and Chairs' Slides (10 mins) \[Chairs\] * Sue: BGP Auto-Configuration draft. Should we try to adopt it again? Should we send it to the Independent Stream? * Alvaro: "We" can't do that. It is a choice for the authors. * Sue: Yes, but the WG does need to "let go" 1. BGP CT/CAR discussion (30 mins) draft-kaliraj-idr-bgp-classful-transport-planes draft-dskc-bess-bgp-car \[Susan Hares, Kaliraj Vairavakkalai, Dhananjaya Rao\] * Kireeti Kompella. Isn't it important to give deployment experience after a while? Or do we limit to interop? * Sue: SPRING is working on something in this area, but it is still at individual status. Since that is getting input from both sets of authors we need to wait a bit. * Sue: After all the talk on the mailing list, have we run out of steam? * Jeff: Note the "back-up items" in the slides * Sue: Thanks for everyone moving to Forum3 * Kireeti: The interop report, is there an implication from that that both might become standards? * Sue: If I had the answers I would already have given them. I expect they will go to Experimental, and might go to Standards Track thereafter. The hardest thing is scaling and error-free code, so early customer deployment will tell us a lot. I would like one single solution, but we might not get it. Customer deployment will dictate and teach us a lot. * Jeff: We have examples in IETF where more than one technology have come out in same space. Question is how to get funcitonal interop if we have more than one solution. * Gyan Mishra: Would interop report be added to existing drafts, or do you want a 3rd draft? * Sue: We'll see * Gyan: As solns are quite different, if interop is not feasible will they both go to RFC? * Sue: As we think they are funcitonally equivalent, we hope for interop * Wim Henderickx: Do we have any operators that will try both. Otherwise, may just silo * Sue: I share your fears * Wim: Could we have an "independent team" to try to come to a converged solution. I fear we will end up deployin both. Once an operator has deployed one solution, they will never change to the other. 1. VPN Prefix ORF for BGP-4 (5 mins) draft-wang-idr-vpn-prefix-orf \[Gyan Mishra\] * Sue: See the ordered list of documents for adoption on the wiki 1. BGP Entropy Label Capability, Version 3 (8 mins) draft-scudder-idr-entropy-label \[John Scudder\] * Swadesh Agrawal: Will it be a Security Concern that you may leak transport information outside * John: Yes we need to say that in the Security Considerations * Kireeti Kompella: Apologies for having messed up. Thanks to authors for fixing it. 1. BGP SR Policy Extensions for NRP (8 mins) Moved to bottom of agenda 2. BGP-LS Extensions for SR Network Resource Partition SIDs (8 mins) draft-chen-idr-bgp-ls-transport-slice \[Ran Chen\] * Ketan: All info comes from an LSR draft. Why do we need two drafts? * Ran: I think it is important to have separate drafts * Ketan: Why? * Ran: Let's discuss offline 1.
