I am a bit confused by the discussion if multipath protocols can be standards track as we already have MPTCP as a proposed standard?

", "time": "2022-11-07T16:34:19Z"}, {"author": "Piers O'Hanlon", "text": "

I understand that Apple have deployed MPTCP for Siri for some years now so presumably it's working ok for them? I think they also have expanded use of the MPTCP API to other apps which would also indicate its utility...

Yes, that is my understanding as well. Also, the 3GPP ATSSS work references MPTCP Proxy.

", "time": "2022-11-07T16:51:33Z"}, {"author": "Sri Gundavelli", "text": "

That was my question as if there are any SDOs referencing this work. If yes, then the question on moving from experimental track will be relevant.

My comment on relation to tunnel based multipath approaches previously standardized and this one ...is the key difference around scheduling.

Sorry I was not clear ..with the mask on ..

@Sri: at 3GPP there is currently the decision that enhanced ATSSS should support non-TCP and discussion whether MP-DCCP (and/or MPQUIC) should be included in corresponding TS

Dirk - That is good to hear. If this makes it, it will really make sense to consider moving out of exp track.

", "time": "2022-11-07T16:57:31Z"}, {"author": "Dirk Hugo", "text": "

and there it may be relevant whether the protocol is exp or std

I agree

exp, ps, std...

i think the discussion was ps vs exp; personally I am ok with ps.

", "time": "2022-11-07T16:58:50Z"}, {"author": "David Black", "text": "

Yes ps (i.e., standards track) vs. experimental.

", "time": "2022-11-07T16:59:19Z"}, {"author": "Anna Brunstrom", "text": "

@Sri, in relation to differences between solutions, functionality of MP-DCCP is similar to MPTCP, but without the reliability. As in MPTCP, you can use the transport protocol information for scheduling.

Thanks Anna for the clarification. I see the clear difference now compared to the other tunnel based approaches. I looked at the draft. Thanks
