State of the Area was presented by the Area Directors.
The name Congress WG proposal for the congestion control WG was rejected by IESG. The WG will be renamed Congestion Control WG (CCWG).
Brian Trammel: Encourage the ADs to charter the congestion control WG as COCO WG. Reese commented that we want something that is clear and contrast against ICCRG and is not cute. Brian wanted the mailing list for the congestion controlled WG at least is called cc@ietf.org ;-).
Marcus Ihlar presented an overview of IPPM WG.
Lars Eggert: When IAOM was put into the IPPM WG it was with the intention that the existing metrics would be reused and that there was measurement expertise. Has that happened? Marcus: To at least some extent. However, the WG is struggling a bit with cross review.
Gorry Fairhurst: A question is if the WG is doing anything to promote implementation of the protocol and tools that the WG has defined. And if the WG has created site and material to spread the knowledge. Marcus: Not really.
Lars Eggert: Does IPPM still have a strong link to ITU. Marcus: Yes, this link still exist and also to Broadband Forum.
