Hands-on tutorial: Using the Github web interface for authoring Internet-Drafts
This tutorial provides a hands-on walk-through on how to use the GitHub web interface for authoring Internet-Drafts based on the IETF draft template. This session is specifically focused on the workflow needed by draft authors and covers creating a draft repository, reviewing and editing documents in Markdown using issues and pull requests, and automatically submitting draft revisions to the Datatracker.
Participants are expected to have a GitHub account and to follow the demonstrated steps in parallel on their own device. All steps only use the GitHub web interface, and no detailed knowledge of Git is needed. Ideally, participants already have a draft idea and plan to begin writing it soon, allowing them to start working on their own draft during the session. Alternatively, participants may work through the tutorial using an example draft.
Given the hands-on nature of this tutorial, participants are asked to pre-register in order to limit participants to a manageable number.
