Abstract: SRv6 in SONiC powers some of the world’s largest hyperscaler networks, including Microsoft’s Fairwater data center, the world’s largest AI data center, as well as Alibaba’s eCore network, Alibaba’s Next Generation DCI Network. SRv6 adoption in SONiC has grown rapidly, becoming one of the platform’s key features. To date, this effort includes more than 440 pull requests and 1,900 commits merged into the mainline across SAI, SONiC, and FRR, with contributions from Cisco, Microsoft, Alibaba, NVIDIA, Broadcom, Intel, and 6WIND. In this session, we share the journey of SRv6 support in SONiC. We review the current status of SRv6 in SONiC.
