Minutes of the EMAN meeting at IETF 87 in Berlin Over-full room, about 45 people attended the meeting + 6 via jabber Scribe: Paul Aitken, on Etherpad at http://tools.ietf.org/wg/eman/minutes WG Status --------- - EMAN Requirements approved, in RFC Editor queue since 2 May 13 Energy Management Framework -08 ------------------------------- Presented by John Parello - Many changes in this version; sections re-ordered, IANA Considerations added, including a Registry for Power States. Information model represented (at this stage) in pseudo-code, can easily generate other forms of it, e.g. UML. - How should information model be presented in the draft? Strong support for pseudo-code, support also for UML. It seems the draft should include both. - Draft complexity: conflict here between making the framework simpler by removing more relationships, and perhaps by moving the information model from it to a new, separate draft. = Discussion will continue on the list, please read the draft and comment; provide new text to improve it. We plan to run its first WG Last Call starting about mid-August, and may need a second WG Last Call after further revisions. Energy-aware- MIB -09 Power and Energy Monitoring MIB -06 --------------------- Presented by John Parello. - Only a few changes. = Waiting for Framework to become stable, will need to check that all the requirements are met Battery MIB -09 --------------- Presented by Juergen Quittek. - Needs one more revision, needs to identify slot and battery ID for replaceable batteries. = Waiting on Framework Applicability Statement -03 --------------------------- Presented by Nevil Brownlee - Now fairly stable = Ready for WGLC once Framework is done Other Presentations ------------------- At this point we ran out of time (only one hour), so no further drafts were discussed. However, the slides for them are on the Meeting Materials page. Next Steps: ----------- - WG Last Call on Framework mid-August, goal is to submit it before next IETF meeting. - MIBs to follow once Framework is submitted, then Applicability Statement. The meeting finished at 1000.
