Dime notes: Jean Mahoney (with some material taken from Etherpad notes). Etherpad notes: Dave Doilson; Also take a look at those (http://etherpad.tools.ietf.org:9000/p/notes-ietf-98-dime?useMonospaceFont=true) WG status Change of AD - Ben is now AD. Good Progress in WG Ben is Jabber scribe -------------------------- Marco - Group Signaling Draft: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-dime-group-signaling/ Slides: https://www.ietf.org/proceedings/98/slides/slides-98-dime-group-signaling-00.pdf Fixed remaining comments. Jouni: Anyone challenging the draft going to WGLC? Silence from room Jean - Any implementation? Marco - No (? tools). Treat as experimental, as usual in Diameter. Lyle - this is blocking applications, telecom companies looking for this to be finished first. ---------------------- Dave Dolson - 4006bis Draft: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-dime-rfc4006bis/ Slides: https://www.ietf.org/proceedings/98/slides/slides-98-dime-rfc4006bis-00.pdf   Went over diffs between this and 4006 Jouni - *** wanted to fix *** for a while, not trivial. Lyle - maybe bring this up on the ML? It will be a long discussion. ACTION Dave - don't believe there are any more issues. Jouni - Do you accept pull requests? Lyle - yes Jouni - would like someone from 3GPP to review (excluding Lionel). If you could ask around. Can do as part of WGLC. ACTION: Jouni will ask Lionel to poke 3GPP folks for reviews. Jouni out next week but will kick off WGLC after that. Maybe 3-4 weeks review. done with WGLC by end April. -------------------- Lyle - Policy Groups Draft: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-bertz-dime-policygroups/ Slides: https://www.ietf.org/proceedings/98/slides/slides-98-dime-diameter-policy-groups-00.pdf Would like this to be a WG doc going forward, after getting feedback on list. Jouni - who has read? Half the working group (only 7 people in room) Dave - sounds like a good idea, but document doesn't explain as well as Lyle does. Jean - echoes Jouni - why not an app id? Lyle - we are implementing it in everything we can. We're an operator. Expecting this AVPs to be added to existing apps as optional AVPs. Jouni - would like to see discussion. They we come back. ----------------- Lyle - Predictive 12:40 - 12:50 Diameter Predicted Units, Lyle Bertz Draft: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-bertz-dime-predictunits/ Slides: https://www.ietf.org/proceedings/98/slides/slides-98-dime-diameter-predicted-units-00.pdf Ben (as individual) - as individual, haven't read, so take this with grain of salt - privacy issues? Lyle - we have a lot of concerns. Assume worst case - it's very user centric. We're already into this mess. We'd like help. Ben (as individual) - we're including how we think the user is going to behave. Lyle - we need an exhaustive privacy consideration section. Dave - Back to the list of metrics. It looks like a Gy app - you would port to any type of application. Privacy Considerations - should say you should not...applications that would not otherwise collect usage. Would you report disk usage and CPU. Lyle - this is just one dimension, if we want to add that - it would be more complex. Dave - inside predictive units, you could list multiple things - is that not multiple dimensions Lyle - we see people packing more than one unit it. We've seen both, want to keep it consistent with main base specs. We can talk about it on mailing list. Jouni - half the working group has read this. Not in the charter. Jouni - what's the AD's view on this, there was the plan to wind this WG down. Ben - If there is interesting work to do, they could do it. Would be good to see interest on ML. Jouni - after overload, which was peak for work, there's no interest. Active number of participants can be counted on one hand. Ben - we may see things from 5G or virtualization. Wait till CT4 gets ahold of this. Can ask on the list what interest is on the list. I don't have an opinion on keeping the WG going vs spinning down. Maintenance groups can go dormant. It's a small set to take on new milestones. Jouni - I would like to ask around more. Don't have anything against work proposed. Would like to see more interest. Ben - you mean interest in at least reviewing. Jouni - Doesn't mean that nothing happens before Prague we can do things on the ML. Adding milestones is easy if we need to take on the work. --------- AOB We are done for this IETF meeting. WGLC for Group Signaling. Will engage 3GPP in 4006bis last call. For two new pieces, the authors can do it by themselves, and Jouni will come back in a week to try to sense interest. Asking WG about ambition for working on new work.
