Call for Demos Special Joint NMRG - NoF Demo Session 3-4 October 2019 Rome, Italy Paper submission: 18/09/19 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In cooperation with the organization committee of the 10th International Conference on Network of the Future (NoF), the IRTF Network Management Research Group (NMRG) invites authors to submit contributions to a demo session in the area of Intent Based Networking (IBN), with an emphasis on prototypes, practical experiences but also work-in-progress towards designing and implementing IBN enablers and solutions. Intents define the operation objectives of networks without actually defining what operations to perform to reach them. This particular session aims at providing a venue for researchers, professionals and students to discuss their work, share their experience and stimulate collaborations. In particular, it aims at consolidating the research community of IBN and also promoting (pre-)standardization opportunities through the NMRG, which is currently defining a roadmap for IBN where all contributions and proposals are welcome to refine it. All accepted papers will be published in NoF conference proceedings. Below is a non-exhaustive list of topics • Intent expression, models and grammars • Functional architectures for Intents • Intent interpretation and translation into operational functions • Life-cycle management of intents • Interoperability • Machine learning and artificial intelligence for Intents • Monitoring and verification of Intent realization • Applications for specific use cases or environments • Simulation/emulation environments • Intent validation/normalization This joint NMRG-NoF demo session will be colocated with NoF at the Engineering Faculty campus of the University of Rome La Sapienza, one of the oldest universities in the world, founded by Pope Boniface VIII in 1303. The joint NMRG-NoF demo session is part of a 2-day NMRG interim meeting, which will take place on: • Thursday, Oct. 3rd from 14:30 to 18:00 • Friday, Oct. 4th from 9:00 to 17:30 The NMRG meeting will include an introductory session, the demo sessions, and a final discussion on IBN topics. The detailed program will be available soon. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Important dates: • Paper submission: 18/09/19 • Notification of acceptance: 22/09/19 • Camera-Ready: 25/09/19 • Registration: 25/09/19 • NMRG technical meeting (including demo session): 3-4/10/2019 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Registration • Full: 200 € • 1-day: 150 € • Included in NoF 2019 full registration -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Submission guidelines: All demo proposals have to be submitted in a two-page format using IEEE 2-column using the following link: https://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=25836 They will be evaluated based on the following criteria: • Relevance to the IBN topic • Significance of the practical contribution • Potential Impact • Clarity of the setup and scenario description -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Co-chairs: Laurent Ciavaglia, Nokia, France Walter Cerroni, University of Bologna, Italy Jérôme François, Inria, France
