Review of minutes The minutes of the 17 November 2016 meeting were approved. 1. Agenda bash 2. Project status 2.1. Format Heather Flanagan reported that she is still waiting for the IAOC to vote to award the bids for the new format tools; she expects the vote to happen later this week. Heather Flanagan reported that she has been working on HTML files to test the new CSS; she has found some bugs and will issue bug reports accordingly. 2.2. Digital Preservation Heather Flanagan reported that she is working with Greg Wood on a bog post or IETF journal article about the RFC Series being archived by the National Library of Sweden; the National Library of Sweden will do their own press release. Heather Flanagan is still looking for at least one more official digital archive. Ideally, there would be one official archive on each continent, but for the moment Heather is aiming for two archives in total. Once there are are two archives in place, Heather would like the RPC to stop keeping paper copies, but she acknowledged that she will need to have a conversation with the IETF Trust about that. 2.3. Style Guide update Heather Flanagan noted that with the digital signatures project going dormant, her next priority is to update the RFC Style Guide to address outstanding questions about citations and what text will need to change with the new RFC formats. 3. RSOC endorsement of draft-iab-rfc-preservation The RSOC agreed to ask the IAB to send draft-iab-rfc-preservation out for community review. Heather Flanagan will send the request to the IAB. 4. STM Workshop Heather Flanagan noted that she sent her report from the STM Workshop last week. The scholarly publishing world's current challenges include how people find their material in this day and age; libraries do not catalog open-access journals in the same way they catalog subscription journals, but researchers are being encouraged to publish open-access. Identity and access management is also a challenge, as most libraries control access to materials based on IP address, which is problematic. Heather Flanagan also attended sessions on standards such as EPUB and HTML5, and how they affect the publishing industry. 5. AOB
